Taking golf lessons is a very important part of any golfer’s campaign to get better, many golfers spend lots of money on new golf club and publications in the attempt to get better fast, however there is an easier way with a little patience and practice to turn your golf game around for ever.
Many players find the thought of taking golf lessons very daunting as they do not like the thought of an experienced player looking at their golf swings and analyzing them. A good bit of advice is to visit your local PGA (Professional Golfers Association) Professional. These Professionals are trained in coaching players of all standards from complete beginners through to advanced county, regional and Professional players.
PGA Golf Professionals are taught all of the skills needed to teach effectively such as learning behaviors, players with disabilities and teaching children. There is much to learn from hitting better tee shots, improving your iron play, better chipping and the most important thing – holing more putts!!
A normal golf lesson lasts anywhere between half an hour and an hour and prices start at around £15 for a half hour lesson. Price however isn’t the issue here as you need to be sure that the Professional you use is in it for the long haul just like you and is as enthused about improving your game as you are.
Arrange an appointment with a PGA Professional and see if you like his or hers teaching style and attitude, if not there are plenty more out there as you have to feel as comfortable as possible about your improvement. You need to be able to open up about your problems and fears and don’t worry they will understand as they have been there before and experienced many of your problems.
Also look at the facilities available such as a covered driving range because there is nothing more frustrating then having a lesson booked and having to cancel it because of the weather and as we all know the British weather is very unpredictable indeed!
Most of all enjoy your experience and watch your game flourish, it really will be the best thing you do because it will not be a short term fix, it will be one that stays with you throughout your golfing life helping you in times of trouble and of course reducing your handicap.
